Wonderful Week
I was looking forward to an awesome sermon this morning but mother nature decided to throw me a curve ball so I am home early. However I several things to do this evening at church so I can still have an awesome time later this afternoon!!!
I have lots of thing s going on in my life and I am trying to get myself reorganized after the holidays and I am getting back on track but not there 100%. I need a day just to catch up on "paperwork" I was thankful to hear someone was going to be in charge of our Food Pantry at church and that I can just go in and volunteer once a week like I wanted to do. Once they get the office and counseling services set up I really want to work in that area.
I am just rambling now....

My morning at church...
time commitment is not much a couple nights a quarter....and it is a position that allows me to serve with 2 of my passions..missions and young women in grades 7-12. I hope God will give me the wisdom and His will in the next couple of weeks.

I had a wonderful morning at church this morning...
In Sunday school we started our new curriculum which I really do like but I think its going to take some time for the girls to get use to an in depth study as the previous curriculum was fairly light. This one is so much better because of the depth it will go into but it will take a couple weeks for us to work all the kinks out...
The Pastor started a new series of Sermons this morning:
Jan 09 The Balanced Life
Today's sermon was on Centered Living
Scripture was John 17:20-26 and Gal 3:26-4:7
The scripture in John focuses on Jesus prayer for us(believers) and how He desires us to be one just as God, He and the Holy Spirit are one. (vs 21 emphasizes this truth). The Galatians passage shows us how we are sons(daughters) of God. We are to be relational giving and sharing love with those around us.
What does God want you to do?
1. God wants you to enjoy relationship with Him.
2. God wants you to share that same relationship with others.

Its' 2009
Goal #1 To keep consistent in the Word of God! Life is so much better when I stay in the Word!
Goal #2 Learn to say NO! I will be taking over as Women's Ministry Director for my church this year and that alone is going to be a huge job. I will also be teaching Sunday School to our 7th and 8th grade girls! Then I will be assistant director for VBS! So that will be plenty on my plate so I must learn to say no!
Goal#3 probably should have been included above but My husband and I have been volunteering in our church's Food pantry and we will continue to do that in 2009. Our goal is to get the Food pantry past the beginning stages...
Goal #4 To begin a consistent exercise routine, I am seriously out of shape and know that exercise is a part of staying healthy. For Christmas this year, I received a treadmill, an Ab Lounger and a recumbent bike so there are no excuses for not exercising!
Goal #5 to read through the Bible Chronologically.
Goal #6 My husband and I are going to implement a weekly Family night to spend with our kids teaching the Truths of God to them while doing fun activities.
Goal #7 To keep myself accountable to others for staying on task with all my 2009 goals!

Beginnings...
I joined RFBC in April of 2008. I was sure God wanted me in this church even though the reason was not clear.
May 2008 I attended a women’s event sponsored by the church and really loved it and joined a list for upcoming panning meeting/team. In June of 2008 I taught a VBS class my first act of service in this church and I loved it. Also in June we had our first women’s ministry planning meeting mostly discussing the goals of what this team needed to accomplish and making it all a matter of prayer before we began. Over the next month we met weekly to pray for the Women’s ministry we were “starting” in our church I began sensing a little more why I was in this church. A few years ago I took some classes in Pastoral Ministry with a Concentration in Women’s Ministry. Only knowing that God had called me to work with women but not sure of anything else. During the weekly prayer meetings I could see some of His plan for me unfolding. First I need experience with being a member and doing the little things in Women’s Ministry and coming in at the right time I was able to jump right in with steps to start a women’s ministry which is giving me the experience I need.
A few weeks ago we met and earnestly began planning and talked about leadership teams. I joined several teams 1. Bible Study 2. Special Events and 3.Prayer team
The prayer team is probably my biggest leap of faith as I have a really hard time praying out loud in public but even though I have not prayed out loud yet I can definitely say my prayer life is improving daily…
My 3 teams all met this past week and I agreed to be secretary for the prayer and Bible study teams and I am the coordinator of Special Events. I am really excited to see how God is going to use me in these positions and I am really excited about how He is going to use our women’s ministry to reach the women in our church and community
A little about our Women’s ministry…
The RIBS (Rejoicing in being sisters) Women's Ministry is based upon
the premise that God created women to be beautiful and unique. As we
join our hearts, heads, and hands, our objective is to love, encourage
and inspire other women to serve the Lord, and to grow in grace, mercy
and kindness.
Mission statement: Rejoicing together as sisters as we reach out to encourage and
minister to the hearts of women.
